Location & surroundings

La Salindre is an old country estate on the southern edge of the French Cévennes, just under 70km from the Mediterranean and approximately 60km from Montpellier and Nîmes. It lies in a secluded spot at an altitude of around 400m in the Salindrenque valley.
Originally, a Benedictine monastery founded in the 12th century stood on this site – its ruins can still be seen today.

The 12.5-hectare plot, situated on both sides of the Salindrenque, offers many lovely spots. There are two large meadows, plenty of woodland (chestnut, holm oak, acacia, lime, beech and many more) and secluded spots on the banks of the Salindrenque. This makes the place ideal for meditation, relaxation, vision quests and similar pursuits. Hikers will find a wide variety of plants and animals.

The climate is temperate Mediterranean. Thanks to its mountainous location, temperatures remain cooler than on the plains.

Lasalle is a 5-10-minute drive away, or a 45–60-minute walk. In Lasalle, there are cafés, restaurants, a small organic shop, a well-stocked supermarket (which always stocks fresh organic produce), several bakeries, including an organic bakery, and a chemist’s.
